I’m planning on being here at most 2 years, and then I’m transferring to DePaul downtown.  I want to major in film and television.  I would hope to be able to save up and start my own independent film and enter into some festivals. I know it’s very selective but I’d like to work on my ideas. Make sure I have a script going. Make sure I have some money to consider doing that. The story is always half the battle. That’s the whole movie. When I see characters that actually are going through things, actually have problems, I feel more compelled to watch those stories because I kind of feel like I’m taking something away from it.

This is my first year and I am a science transfer. I am going to be going to Michigan afterwards for park ranging. I’ve always wanted to be outdoors doing environmental stuff, and that’s the easiest path for me the choose. Moraine is very opening, very welcoming. I like to get involved so that’s been nice. I want to find something I want to do and be successful and make sure I do something I actually like to do.

Right now I’m undecided in my major. But I’m trying to go into music. The main thing I’m here for is to get my three years, then I’m trying to transfer to Columbia in Chicago. I’m a music producer, that’s my main thing.  It’s mainly trap music. I’m trying to get that off the ground.  I see a lot of people working a job they just hate. They never seem happy, they never seem all “there.” People with jobs doing something they love, they just seem a lot more bright despite dealing with more hardships. I understand that doing something you love as your work is a lot more healthy than doing something that’s meaningless to you.

My major is fine arts, but I really want to be in education. I had some teachers inspire me. I like [my teachers at Moraine]. Some of them are really tough. Right now I’m taking drawing. I really like it. My parents are amazed by the stuff I drew. One of my goals is after graduating Moraine Valley to go to ISU and dorm there and get my education degree there and then start teaching. I really like [Moraine] because there are so many opportunities. They have a rec center for students to work out for free. I like the environment, how you can sit outside.

I am undecided as a major, I’m thinking possibly going into massage therapy. Classes are good, stress free. I like [Moraine] so far. In the future I hope for success, just being able to live on my own.
